Abraham Ancer Remains Happy With LIV Golf Decision Despite Major Championship Uncertainty
Abraham Ancer remains optimistic about his move to LIV Golf despite limited Major championship opportunities in 2024. The Fireballs GC star played in just one Major this year, qualifying for The Open Championship through Final Stage Qualifying.
Despite the lack of direct pathways for LIV Golf players to enter Major championships, Ancer maintains a positive outlook. "Do we want to play the Majors? Of course we do. So, hopefully something happens and there's a bit of a path," he explained in an interview with Golf Monthly.

The situation affects several prominent players, including Ancer's teammate Sergio Garcia, who unsuccessfully attempted to qualify for both the US Open and The Open Championship. This highlights the challenges LIV Golf players face in maintaining their presence in golf's biggest events.

Another significant impact of joining LIV Golf has been the exclusion from PGA Tour-sanctioned events, including the Presidents Cup. Ancer, who earned 3.5 points from 5 matches in his 2019 appearance, reflects fondly on the experience: "The Presidents Cup, for me, was a tournament that I will always remember and never forget. You feel things that you just don't feel anywhere else."

Despite these challenges, Ancer stands by his decision to join LIV Golf: "I'm happy with my decision and I knew that may have been a possibility, even though I thought there may have been some type of path created some time ago, but it is what it is."
