Auburn Star Jackson Koivun Eyes PGA Tour Card At Arnold Palmer Invitational
World Amateur No.2 Jackson Koivun has an opportunity to earn his PGA Tour card this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, following Luke Clanton's recent success through the PGA Tour U Accelerated program.
Koivun needs to make the cut and finish in the top-10 at the API to reach the required 20 points for full PGA Tour status. He currently has 18 points, earned through winning college golf's Nicklaus, Hogan, and Haskins awards - making history as the first freshman to achieve this triple crown - and reaching World No.2 amateur ranking.

The 19-year-old Auburn University star has already shown promise on the PGA Tour, making cuts at both the Memorial Tournament and Farmers Insurance Open in the past year. He earned his spot in the API field through the Palmer Cup exemption, voted for by his fellow amateur competitors.

While Koivun has additional opportunities to earn points through future Palmer Cup and Walker Cup appearances, he's focused on securing his card this week. He tees off Thursday at 10:50am ET alongside Isaiah Salinda, aiming to join recent qualifier Luke Clanton on the PGA Tour.
"It's hard not to think about that, but just trying to put that in the back of my mind and go play like I know I can," Koivun said. "If everything falls into place, that's great, but at the end of the day I'm just trying to come out here and have fun."
