Brutal Weather Creates Chaos at PGA Tour Q-School Qualifier
The PGA Tour Q-School's final stage at Ponte Vedra Beach has turned into a brutal test, with extreme weather conditions creating havoc during Friday's second round. Only eight players remained under par through 36 holes, with the lead settling at just three under par.
Sawgrass Country Club played particularly challenging, averaging more than five strokes over par without a single under-par round. The Dye's Valley course wasn't much easier, playing more than two-and-a-half shots over par.

A three-way tie for the lead emerged between Alistair Docherty, Corey Shaun, and Matthew Riedel. The competition for the fifth and final PGA Tour card is intense, with four players, including PGA Tour veteran Lanto Griffin, tied at one under par.
Notable players in contention include:
- Hayden Buckley, Matt NeSmith, Richy Werenski (T9, even par)
- Nick Watney, Austin Cook (T15, +1)
- Doc Redman (T33, +3)
- Scott Piercy (T79, +6)
- Chez Reavie (T112, +8)
The stakes are high with five PGA Tour cards and 40 Korn Ferry Tour spots available. Corey Shaun's journey stands out, having nearly missed the event entirely after a one-shot miss in Australia, while co-leader Alistair Docherty seeks redemption after finishing 32nd on the KFT points list.
The weekend promises intense competition as players battle not only the challenging conditions but also the immense pressure of securing their professional futures. Golf Channel will broadcast the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
