Calum Hill's Epic Surge Captures Joburg Open Title With Playoff Victory After 8-Shot Comeback
Scotland's Calum Hill won the 2025 Joburg Open in dramatic fashion, claiming his second DP World Tour title after overcoming an eight-stroke deficit in the final round.
Hill shot a spectacular 8-under 62, featuring 10 birdies and two bogeys, to reach 14-under par. His stellar performance forced a three-way playoff with South Africans Jacques Kruyswijk and Shaun Norris.

The playoff concluded on the second extra hole when Norris found the water after slipping in a bunker, and Kruyswijk three-putted, leaving Hill to secure victory with a par amid approaching thunderstorms.
"It's awesome. I'm delighted," said Hill. "It was a fantastic day and this is the cherry on top. Getting the birdie on the 18th was the only way I was going to have a chance. This might be my first playoff ever so it's nice to have a 1-0 record on that."
Final Standings:
- T1 (-14) Calum Hill (playoff winner)
- T1 (-14) Jacques Kruyswijk
- T1 (-14) Shaun Norris
- 4th (-13) Dylan Frittelli
- 5th (-12) Daniel Van Tonder
The DP World Tour takes a week break before returning with the Porsche Singapore Classic at Laguna National Golf Resort.
