After eight years as a PGA Tour pro, Colt Knost has found his true calling as a broadcaster and podcast host. His transition from player to media personality has brought him unexpected success and countless surreal experiences.

Playing golf is now pure enjoyment for Knost, free from the pressures of professional competition. Based in Scottsdale, he splits his time between casual rounds at Whisper Rock and select member-guest tournaments, appreciating the game more than ever without the burden of it being his livelihood.

His current roles include course reporter for CBS Sports, co-host of GOLF's Subpar podcast, and host on SiriusXM radio. These positions have connected him with sports legends like Charles Barkley and Tony Romo, relationships that still leave him amazed given his small-town Texas upbringing.

Working alongside broadcasting veterans like Jim Nantz has been particularly meaningful for Knost. "The Nantz thing is still surreal to me; he's been with CBS since 1985, the year I was born. I've never known anyone else in that job. Now he's a friend. That's so cool."

His work on Subpar has revealed different sides of professional athletes, with former NHL player Mike Commodore's episodes being particularly popular among fans. Knost enjoys bringing energy and fun to golf broadcasting, making the sport more accessible to viewers.

Looking ahead to 2025, Knost is particularly excited about emerging talent Max Greyserman and Jordan Spieth's return from wrist surgery. He remains passionate about capturing the intensity of tournament golf, especially during final round coverage.
