Chase Koepka Shows Signs Of Rust In Return, Misses Cut After 15-Month Layoff
Chase Koepka made his return to competitive golf at the Asian Tour's Philippine Open, his first tournament appearance since being relegated from LIV Golf 15 months ago. The younger brother of Brooks Koepka missed the cut after shooting consecutive rounds of 72 to finish at four-over-par.

His first round showed signs of rust with four bogeys on the front nine, though he steadied with two birdies on a clean back nine. The second round proved more volatile, with three bogeys and two birdies on each nine for another 72.
Koepka was within striking distance of the cut line at three-over through 12 holes in round two, but three consecutive bogeys effectively ended his chances. He did finish positively with back-to-back birdies.
This marked Koepka's first competitive action since October 2023, when he was relegated from LIV Golf after finishing 48th out of 50 players in the individual standings. That result cost him his spot on brother Brooks' Smash GC team.
Though he initially entered the 2023 LIV Golf Promotions event, Koepka withdrew and took time away from competition. He now returns with a LIV Golf exemption to play on the Asian Tour as he looks to rebuild his career in 2025.
During his LIV Golf tenure, Koepka produced one of the circuit's most memorable moments with a hole-in-one at the Adelaide event that sparked celebrations at the tournament's party hole.
