Epic Sunningdale Foursomes Victory: Corben and Crockett Complete Three-Hole Comeback
David Corben and Harry Crockett staged an impressive comeback to win the 2025 Sunningdale Foursomes, overcoming a 2-down deficit with three holes remaining to secure a 1-up victory over Monty Holcombe and Oscar Lent.
The turning point came at the par-3 16th, where Corben hit a precise 8-iron to three feet, leading to a crucial birdie. After their opponents bogeyed the 17th, the match went to the final hole all square. A missed par putt by Lent on the 18th sealed the victory for Corben and Crockett.
"Losing wasn't really an option," said Corben, a three-time Surrey county champion from Hindhead Golf Club. "I just wanted to fight until the end for my playing partner. He was exceptional."
