Former LIV Golf Winner Switches Focus to PGA Tour Dream After Abrupt League Exit
Former LIV Golf winner Eugenio Chacarra has shifted his focus to pursuing a PGA Tour card after departing from Fireballs GC. The 24-year-old Spanish golfer, who earned around $16 million during his LIV Golf tenure, expressed disappointment over unfulfilled promises regarding Official World Golf Ranking points and Major tournament access.

Despite winning the LIV Golf Bangkok Invitational in 2022 and the Asian Tour's St Andrews Bay Championship in 2023, Chacarra believes the PGA Tour offers more meaningful opportunities for career development. He emphasized that LIV Golf's focus on prize money alone doesn't align with his professional goals.
"I see what it's like to win on the PGA Tour and how your life changes. How you get Major access and ranking points," Chacarra stated. "On LIV, nothing changes, there is only money. It doesn't matter if you finish thirtieth or first."
To transition to the PGA Tour, Chacarra must serve a mandatory one-year suspension until September 23, 2025. In the meantime, he plans to compete in Asian Tour events. While grateful for his LIV Golf experience, Chacarra remains determined to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming a PGA Tour player.
"I know this is what my heart tells me is right and it works for my motivation to wake up and grind and get better, and to say I can be a PGA Tour player one day," he concluded.
