While specific details about the surgery remain undisclosed, this procedure follows several recent health challenges for the 58-year-old golfer. In 2024, Daly made 16 appearances on the PGA Tour Champions before withdrawing in August due to osteoarthritis in his left hand.

His most recent competitive appearance was at December's PNC Championship, where he and his son John Daly II finished T8. The pair previously won this tournament in 2021.

  • July 2024: Withdrew from The Open (knee injury)

Daly remains optimistic about his recovery, responding to fans: "Thank you to Doc McClimans for getting me mended back! Should be hitting em again soon! Thx for all the messages."
