Heavy Rain Forces Opening Round Postponement at Singapore Classic 2025
The opening round of the 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic has been postponed until Friday due to waterlogged conditions at Laguna National Golf Course. Heavy rainfall rendered the course unplayable, forcing tournament officials to delay the start.
The DP World Tour confirmed that Thursday's originally scheduled tee times will now take place on Friday, with round two following on Saturday. Officials continue monitoring course conditions ahead of the rescheduled opening round.
Notable players in the field include:
- Robert MacIntyre (World No.14)
- Paul Casey
- Tom McKibbin
The tournament, now in its third year at Laguna National, was won by Jesper Svensson in 2024 and Ockie Strydom in its inaugural 2023 edition. Tournament officials will determine whether the event can maintain its planned 72-hole format or require reduction to 54 holes, similar to the recent rain-affected South African Open.
