Legendary sports commentator Jim Nantz has won Scottie Scheffler's 2012 GMC Yukon XL at auction for $50,000, with proceeds benefiting the Triumph Over Kid Cancer charity. The auction took place between December 6-28 through Heritage Auctions.

The vehicle, which has 190,000 miles on the odometer, was Scheffler's first car, given to him by his father after graduation. He drove it to numerous junior events and Monday qualifiers early in his career, including his victorious 2022 Masters Tournament at Augusta National.

Despite earning over $71 million in his PGA Tour career, Scheffler kept the vehicle until May 2024, when he received a new sponsor vehicle following the birth of his son Bennett.

The car features two of Scheffler's signatures - one on the right side of the dashboard with a "First Owned Vehicle" inscription, and another on the right visor. Nantz, who placed the winning bid during a charity gala in Houston, joked via text to Golfweek: "I figure just driving this SUV to the golf course should lower my handicap by at least five shots."

The auction benefited the Triumph Over Kid Cancer charity, founded by James Ragan, a childhood friend of Scheffler's who battled osteosarcoma. Scheffler continues to support the foundation through various initiatives, including organizing the James A. Ragan Triumph Scramble and his "Scottie's Heroes" program, which provides golf clubs to young cancer patients.
