Justin Thomas Expresses Extreme Fatigue Over Ongoing PGA Tour-LIV Golf Battle
The PGA Tour-LIV Golf divide continues to weigh heavily on players, with Justin Thomas expressing exhaustion over the ongoing situation at TPC Sawgrass ahead of the 2025 Players Championship.

"I think we're kind of like past the level of exhaustion," Thomas stated during Tuesday's press conference. "There's just so many of us, really on both sides, both us on Tour and the LIV players, that we don't really know what's going on and we're just playing golf and hoping for the best."
While acknowledging that LIV's emergence has led to positive changes for PGA Tour players, including increased purses and more player power, Thomas remains critical of how certain players approached the split. The Players Championship's $25 million purse exemplifies the financial benefits that resulted from the competition.
PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan indicated progress in talks with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) but noted significant "hurdles" remain. He emphasized that while they aim to integrate aspects of LIV Golf, they won't compromise what makes the PGA Tour special.
Thomas, reflecting the sentiment of many Tour players, expressed a desire for swift resolution while recognizing the complexity of the situation. "It's very obvious we all just want to get it resolved, but this is something that's pretty serious, so it's not like you or anybody can say, alright, this is what we're going to do without it being perfect."
Despite initial hopes for a quick resolution, the path to golf's reunification appears longer than anticipated, with no significant movement on the merger in recent times. The situation continues to impact the sport as both tours operate separately while negotiations persist.
