Lexi Thompson Set To Make Tournament Return at 2025 Founders Cup
Lexi Thompson will make her first tournament appearance of 2025 at the Founders Cup in Bradenton, Florida, after stepping back from full-time professional golf. The event marks the first full-field LPGA tournament of the season.

Thompson, who recently got engaged to Max Provost during an off-season trip to Whistler, Canada, qualified for the event by finishing 50th in last year's CME Cup. While she has retired from playing a full schedule, she plans to continue competing selectively in LPGA Tour events and majors.
She is already qualified for several major championships in 2025, including:
- The Chevron Championship (which she won in 2014)
- KPMG Women's PGA Championship (due to top-10 finish in 2024)
- AIG Women's Open (qualified through 2024 Solheim Cup participation)
The 2025 Founders Cup, now sponsored by US Virgin Islands, has moved from New Jersey to Bradenton Country Club in Florida. The tournament was won last year by Rose Zhang, who shot 24-under-par to defeat Madelene Sagstrom. Notably, Nelly Korda won at this venue during last year's LPGA Drive On Championship in a playoff against Lydia Ko.
Former champion Brittany Lincicome will also compete in the field after receiving a sponsor's exemption.
