LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman Confirms Upcoming Leadership Change, Welcomes Transition
Greg Norman has confirmed he will step down as LIV Golf CEO, acknowledging a leadership transition while expressing pride in the tour's impact on professional golf since its 2022 launch.
"The impact that has been created in the game of golf by LIV, I've had a small, small piece of that, which I'm proud of," Norman told WISH-TV in Indianapolis. He indicated he will maintain some involvement with LIV Golf after the transition.

Reports suggest Scott O'Neil, former CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and current head of Merlin Entertainments, is the leading candidate to replace Norman. While the deal is not yet finalized, sources indicate negotiations are in advanced stages.
Norman praised golf's current state, citing increased competition and the PGA Tour's recent $1.5 billion investment from Strategic Sports Group (SSG). "Now all of a sudden, everybody's trying to follow us. And I think everybody should take a step back and say, 'Oh my gosh. How good has this been for the game of golf?'"
LIV Golf's fourth season is scheduled to begin in February 2024 in Saudi Arabia, with a new event planned for Indianapolis in August.
