LIV Golf Launches 'The Duels' Creator Event With Top Stars And Golf Influencers
The LIV Golf League is launching 'The Duels', a new content creator competition at LIV Golf Miami with a $250,000 prize pool. The event pairs six LIV Golf stars with popular golf content creators in a nine-hole scramble format.
The event will take place on April 5th at Trump National Doral, featuring these pairings:
- Sergio Garcia and George Bryan
- Bubba Watson and Luke Kwon
- Joaquin Niemann and Rick Shiels
- Phil Mickelson and Grant Horvat
- Dustin Johnson and Wesley Bryan
- Cameron Smith and Fat Perez
Format Details:
- Nine-hole scramble format
- Teams select best shot to play after each stroke
- Commentary by Mason Nutt, Andrew Santino, Joey Demare, and Robby Berger
The event will stream exclusively on Grant Horvat's YouTube channel, with additional content later appearing on other creators' channels.
This creator-focused event follows similar initiatives from the PGA Tour, which launched its Creator Classic series in 2024. The PGA Tour has scheduled three Creator Classic events for the 2025 season, including tournaments at:
- The Players Championship (won by Grant Horvat)
- Upcoming events at Truist Championship
- East Lake before the Tour Championship
The Duels coincides with LIV Golf Miami (April 4-6), the circuit's first U.S. tournament of 2025 following events in Riyadh, Adelaide, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
