During his two-year tenure at Aston Villa, Heck significantly increased the club's revenue from £218m to an expected £375m. The 56-year-old brings extensive experience from previous roles, including positions at New York Red Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers.

This move follows recent leadership changes at LIV Golf, with Scott O'Neil replacing Greg Norman as CEO in January. Under O'Neil's leadership, LIV Golf has secured broadcast deals with Fox Sports (US) and ITV (UK), along with additional sponsorships.

Financial reports show LIV Golf's revenue increased from $4.9m in 2022 to $37.1m in 2023. However, the Saudi Public Investment Fund's total investment in LIV Golf could reach $5bn by the end of 2025.

Aston Villa has confirmed Heck's departure, citing his desire "to be closer to his family." His final game with the club will be against Manchester United on May 25th.
