Thompson shared the news on Instagram, stating "The best part of my trip to Whistler... I said YES to my forever and always." Her fiancé, Max Provost, is a Florida-based sales professional who attended Florida State University College of Business.

The 29-year-old's engagement aligns with her previously stated plans to focus more on her personal life. During her retirement announcement, Thompson mentioned her desire to "settle down, get married, have a family" as her top priority approaching her 30th birthday in 2025.

While stepping back from full-time competition, Thompson plans to participate in select LPGA Tour events in 2025, including the Chevron Championship where she claimed her sole Major victory in 2014. Throughout her 14-year LPGA Tour career, Thompson accumulated 11 tour wins and established herself as one of women's golf's biggest stars.

Notably private about her personal life, Thompson has kept details about her relationship with Provost largely under wraps. He was first publicly seen accompanying her at a Solheim Cup gala event last year, where media dubbed him "Lexi's mystery man."
