The impact of Hurricane Helene on Augusta National and the 2024 Masters will be minimal, according to chairman Fred Ridley. Speaking at Pilar Golf Club in Argentina, Ridley confirmed that while the course lost several trees during the September storm, playing conditions will remain unchanged for this year's tournament.

"The golf course is in spectacular condition," Ridley stated. "We had minor damage to the playing surfaces, but we were able to restore them. Players and patrons won't notice any difference during the Masters this year."

The hurricane caused significant damage to the Augusta community, leaving many residents without power and water for weeks. In response, Augusta National partnered with the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area to donate $5 million toward hurricane relief efforts.

The club has experience dealing with weather-related challenges. Previous incidents include:

  • The loss of the iconic Eisenhower Tree in a 2014 ice storm
  • Two fallen trees near the 17th tee during the 2023 Masters

Despite the damage from Hurricane Helene, the 2024 Masters will proceed as scheduled, starting April 10. The club's swift recovery highlights its resilience and commitment to maintaining its world-class standards while supporting the local community.
