Navy SEAL Training Helps PGA Tour's Dahmen Rise Into Farmers Insurance Open Contention
Joel Dahmen has found new strength in his golf game after working with a Navy SEAL during the Fall season. Currently in contention at the Farmers Insurance Open, Dahmen credits this unique training for helping him develop mental toughness.

Working with performance coach Chris Bertram and a Navy SEAL in San Diego, Dahmen focused primarily on mental conditioning rather than physical training. The program included water exercises that pushed him beyond his comfort zone, with his caddie Geno participating alongside him.
"I don't think I would have got through the Fall if I didn't have that training," Dahmen revealed. "I can dig deeper than I thought I could before and there's more in there, so I'm trying to tap into that more often."

The training proved crucial during The RSM Classic in November, where Dahmen needed a strong performance to secure his PGA Tour card for 2025. He delivered with an impressive final-round 64, including a front-nine 30 and a nerve-wracking par putt on the 18th hole to finish 124th in the FedEx Cup Fall standings.
"I was thankful for the opportunity today, but I don't want to go through this ever again," Dahmen reflected after securing his Tour card. His renewed mental strength and improved performance demonstrate the value of his unconventional training approach with the Navy SEAL.
