Robby Berger Fires Back at Rory McIlroy's YouTube Golf Criticism
Rory McIlroy expressed his disinterest in YouTube golf content during his Players Championship press conference, sparking a humorous response from content creator Robby Berger.
When asked about the "YouTube generation" of golf content and the Creators Classic event at TPC Sawgrass, McIlroy maintained he preferred watching competitive tournament golf instead. "I'd much rather watch this golf tournament on Saturday and Sunday than watch YouTube golf," he stated.

Robby Berger, frontman of Bob Does Sports, responded with a comedic Instagram video defending YouTube golf's competitive nature. "Try being the first out of 10 in a 10-man scramble... Try being eight Fireball shots deep trying to hit a 45-footer while the whole world of YouTube is relying on you," Berger joked, before adding he'd "sell his soul" to have McIlroy appear on his channel.
The interaction follows a previous amusing encounter between the two at a Jupiter gas station. Berger had awkwardly attempted to recruit McIlroy for his show, later sharing the embarrassing story on Instagram. McIlroy good-naturedly commented on the post: "Can confirm that it was not your best. The Porsche you were driving was nice. Looks like YouTube pays well...."
The exchange highlights the growing influence of golf content creators while showcasing the playful dynamic between traditional competitive golf and new media platforms.
