Sergio Garcia has rejoined the DP World Tour after paying his fines incurred from playing in LIV Golf. The 2017 Masters champion is now listed in exemption Category 1, reserved for Race to Dubai Rankings winners and Major champions.

As the Ryder Cup's all-time record points scorer, Garcia's return could pave the way for future appearances on the European team. His eligibility depended on settling fines and maintaining DP World Tour membership.

Earlier in November, Garcia expressed his desire to continue his Ryder Cup career, stating his game remains competitive enough for "two or three more Ryder Cups." European captain Luke Donald confirmed in October that Garcia was considering rejoining the Tour, noting he would need to follow all rules and regulations to become eligible.

Previous attempts to rejoin were unsuccessful, with former DP World Tour CEO Keith Pelley reportedly telling Garcia there was "no chance." However, Garcia maintained his intention to return, announcing on the Rick Shiels Golf Show in February his plans to rejoin.

The DP World Tour also confirmed that appeals against fines by fellow LIV golfers Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Adrian Meronk are still pending, allowing them to continue playing on the circuit meanwhile.

While Garcia has successfully rejoined the Tour, his participation in the 2024 Bethpage Black Ryder Cup remains uncertain.
