Shane Lowry Makes History With Iconic Hole-In-One Trio: Pebble Beach, Augusta, and Sawgrass Aces
Shane Lowry has achieved a remarkable feat by completing what might be golf's most impressive hole-in-one collection, adding Pebble Beach's iconic 7th hole to his previous aces at Augusta National and TPC Sawgrass.
According to golf statistician Justin Ray, Lowry is the first player to record holes-in-one at these three legendary par-3s in official competition play. His collection includes:
- 2024: 7th hole at Pebble Beach during the Pro-Am first round
- 2022: 17th hole (Island Green) at TPC Sawgrass during The Players Championship third round
- 2016: 16th hole at Augusta National during The Masters final round

The achievement became even more special as fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy also scored a hole-in-one during the same Pebble Beach Pro-Am round. Lowry jokingly hoped to split the traditional celebratory bar tab with McIlroy, though he maintained his ace was "definitely better" than his friend's slam-dunk effort.
When asked about his favorite among the three iconic aces, Lowry compared it to choosing a favorite child. He mentioned that if he could add one more to his collection, it would be at Augusta National's challenging 12th hole, though he admitted he's "just happy with pars on that hole."

His humble response to this unprecedented achievement: "When stuff like that happens, I've been very lucky with all the ones. There and Augusta and Sawgrass... I guess it's just luck of the Irish or something. I know I'm pretty good at times, but you know, a bit of luck every now and then is helpful, too."
