Eugenio Chacarra, former world No. 2 amateur, is leaving LIV Golf after his contract expired, citing unfulfilled promises and limited competitive opportunities. The 24-year-old Spaniard no longer features on Sergio Garcia's Fireballs team and expresses frustration with LIV's focus on money over career advancement.

While at LIV, Chacarra secured victories on both the LIV Golf circuit and Asian Tour. However, these wins provided limited career benefits compared to PGA Tour victories, which offer major tournament access and world ranking points. He specifically contrasts his situation with former collegiate rival Ludvig Aberg, who has risen to World No. 6 through PGA Tour and DP World Tour success.

"When I joined LIV they promised OWGR and majors," Chacarra revealed. "But it didn't happen. I trusted them. I was the first young guy, then the others came after I made the decision."

His transition to traditional tours faces obstacles. Due to PGA Tour regulations, Chacarra likely faces a one-year suspension from Tour-sanctioned events until September 2025. However, his status as a non-previous Tour member might work in his favor, as he never breached existing contracts.

In the meantime, Chacarra can compete on the Asian Tour and potentially the DP World Tour through sponsor exemptions. His departure from LIV's 14-event schedule reflects a desire for more frequent competition and career development opportunities beyond financial incentives.

"It is a question of motivation," Chacarra explained, "and LIV was only about money."
