TGL Finals: New York vs Atlanta Face Off After Upset Wins Over Top Seeds
The TGL finals are set following two major upsets in the semifinals. New York Golf Club defeated top-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club 6-4, while Atlanta Drive Golf Club beat Bay Golf Club 9-3 to advance.
The finals will feature a best-of-three match series between New York Golf Club and Atlanta Drive Golf Club. The schedule is:
- Match 1: Monday, March 24, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+)
- Match 2: Tuesday, March 25, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN/ESPN+)
- Match 3: Tuesday, March 25, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN) - if necessary
The $21 million total season purse will be distributed as follows:
- Champion: $9 million ($2.25M per player)
- Runner-up: $4.5 million ($1.125M per player)
- 3rd place: $2.25 million ($562.5K per player)
- 4th place: $2 million ($500K per player)
- 5th place: $1.75 million ($437.5K per player)
- 6th place: $1.5 million ($375K per player)
Notable teams that missed the playoffs include Tiger Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club (5th place) and Rory McIlroy's Boston Common Golf team, which went winless and finished last in the regular season.
Match 3 will only be played if teams split the first two matches. The winner of the finals series will be crowned the first-ever TGL champion.
