The TGL is a tech-focused golf league launching in January 2025, created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour. The league combines simulator technology with real-life elements in a custom-built arena called the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Key Features:

  • 64x46 feet simulator screen for tee shots and approaches
  • 3,800 square feet of real putting surface with three virtual greens
  • Players are mic'd up with 40-second shot clock
  • Two-hour matches broadcast live on ESPN

Format:

  • Six teams of four players compete weekly
  • 15-hole matches divided into:
    • 9 holes of Triples (3v3 alternate shot)
    • 6 holes of Singles head-to-head play
  • One point per hole, with overtime tiebreaker if needed

Teams and Players:

  • 24 top PGA Tour players including Woods, McIlroy, Thomas, Fowler
  • Six teams representing different US regions
  • Half the field are Major champions

  • Boston Common Golf
  • Jupiter Links GC
  • Los Angeles Golf Club
  • New York Golf Club
  • The Bay Golf Club

The inaugural season runs from January 7 to March 25, 2025, with matches primarily on Tuesday nights at 7pm ET. The season culminates in semifinals and finals series in March 2025.

The league is operated by TMRW Sports, founded by Woods, McIlroy, and Mike McCarley, with backing from notable athletes and celebrities including Serena Williams, Stephen Curry, and Justin Timberlake.
