Golf ball tracking technology forms the core of TGL's innovative indoor golf league, utilizing a massive 3,392-square-foot simulator screen and sophisticated tracking equipment. This includes 18 Full Swing radar devices and eight Top Tracer optical cameras that precisely measure ball flight characteristics at speeds exceeding 170 mph.

The league has implemented specific rules to handle technical glitches and maintain competitive integrity:

Shot Not Captured:

  • If technology fails to register a shot, a re-hit is granted
  • Exception: Confirmed mishits ("shanks") count as played
  • Original attempt doesn't count toward total shots

Inaccurate Readings:

  • Clearly incorrect technology outputs result in a re-hit
  • Shot is reset to previous position
  • Original attempt is discarded

Physical Interference:

  • Balls hitting objects before the screen warrant a re-hit
  • Players can choose to accept or replay shots with clear disruptions
  • Interference examples include hitting the tee box lip or tracking equipment

A high-tech putting surface complements the simulator, featuring:

  • 41-yard-wide turntable design
  • 567 hydraulic jacks for surface manipulation
  • Used for shots 50 yards or less

Referees and booth officials have final authority on ruling shots as "inaccurate computations" and granting re-hits to ensure fair play throughout matches. The comprehensive rulebook will be publicly released before the league's Tuesday debut at its $50 million West Palm Beach facility.
