Early challenges included blowouts, technology issues, and an unclear competitive identity. However, quick adjustments to rules and gameplay have led to more compelling matches and increased player engagement.

Players are mastering the unique aspects of TGL's technology:

  • Simulator adjustments: Pros are learning to account for shot tracking peculiarities
  • Sand play: Addressing challenges with drier sand conditions through proper acceleration
  • Putting: Adapting to subtle breaks on the high-tech green surface
  • Chipping: Understanding the need for additional speed on shots around the green

Tony Finau shared insights from his LAGC teammates Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala: "Never decelerate through shots, and hit chip shots harder than you think."

The league has made key improvements:

  • Modified green slopes for more realistic putting
  • Adjusted "The Hammer" rules for closer matches
  • Enhanced competitive balance

Cam Young noted, "The golf keeps getting better and better... that's all kind of a product of us getting used to it and playing together a lot."

With players fully invested and increasingly skilled at navigating the technology, TGL is developing into the high-level competition Woods and McIlroy envisioned. While further refinements are planned for the offseason, the league has found its stride in balancing competitive golf with entertainment value.
