Prostate Cancer UK's popular golf fundraising challenge, The Big Golf Race, returns in 2025, inviting golfers to play 36, 72, or 100 holes in a single day to support life-saving research. Since its 2020 launch, over 14,400 players have raised more than £4.5m for prostate cancer research and treatment improvements.

The challenge comes at a crucial time, as prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in England, affecting one in eight men. Funds raised will support vital initiatives like TRANSFORM, described as the most ambitious prostate cancer screening trial in over 20 years.

Participants can choose from three challenges:

  • Half Marathon: 36 holes
  • Marathon: 72 holes
  • Ultra Marathon: 100+ holes

The new website allows easy registration, team joining, and donation tracking. Participants receive a fundraising pack including golf balls, tees, pencils, and a fundraising guide. Additional incentives include:

  • £250+ fundraisers enter a draw to win a holiday at Aphrodite Hills Resort, Cyprus
  • Top fundraiser wins a £3,000 Titleist golf package

Former rugby union player Kenny Logan, who successfully battled prostate cancer in 2022, supports the initiative: "The Big Golf Race is fantastic as it gives golfers the opportunity to get together on the course and open up about their health, as well as raising money for a brilliant cause."

Simon Grieveson, Assistant Director of Research at Prostate Cancer UK, emphasizes the impact: "Every year we're blown away by the response to The Big Golf Race, and we're delighted that it's now the biggest fundraising challenge in golf."
