Tiger Woods provided a candid update on his recovery progress following his sixth back surgery in September. Speaking ahead of the PNC Championship in Florida, where he's competing with his son Charlie, Woods acknowledged he still has significant rehabilitation ahead before returning to regular tournament play.

"This year, I struggled a lot with my back, and that's why I had the procedure done. It's a lot better, but I still have a long way to go," Woods stated.

The 15-time Major winner emphasized the challenges of recovery, noting that while he can manage occasional play, sustained competitive golf remains difficult. His last tournament appearance was at The Open in July, where he missed the cut.

Woods detailed his daily rehabilitation process: "You just do the little things correctly, and they add up. From the moment you get up, just do all the little things, the mundane things you know you have to do. It may not show over a week or a day, but over months, it adds up."

Despite his ongoing recovery, Woods expressed excitement about competing alongside his son Charlie at the PNC Championship. He revealed that Charlie has already beaten him over nine holes, though not yet over a full round: "That day is coming, I'm just prolonging it as long as I possibly can."

While Woods acknowledges he's not competitively ready for regular tournament play, he values the opportunity to compete with Charlie in this family-oriented event, describing it as "one of the bigger highlights of the year for us as a family."
