Tiger Woods Hits Wrong Club In Major TGL Blunder, Admits 'Most Embarrassing Moment' Of Career
Tiger Woods experienced an embarrassing moment during a TGL match when he mistakenly used a sand wedge for a 199-yard shot, coming up 100 yards short. Playing for Jupiter Links against New York, Woods misheard the yardage as 99 yards instead of 199.
His teammates Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim noticed the error immediately, expressing surprise at his club selection. The mistake led to Woods losing the hole to Cameron Young, contributing to Jupiter Links' 10-3 defeat against New York's team of Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Rickie Fowler.
"I heard 99 yards, so I grabbed my 56 and I hit it 100 yards," Woods explained to ESPN's Marty Smith. "One of the most embarrassing moments in my golfing career just happened. I just screwed up."
Jupiter Links currently sits 5th in the TGL standings, having lost to LAGC in their opener before securing a close victory against Boston Common. The Bay GC leads the league with three wins from three matches.

While Woods has participated in all three of Jupiter Links' TGL matches, he recently withdrew from the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines following his mother Kultida's passing. During his appearance in the CBS booth at the event, Woods expressed optimism about the future of professional golf, suggesting that a deal with the Saudi Arabian PIF could be completed soon.
"Things are going to heal quickly," Woods stated. "We're going to get this game going in the right direction. The fans want all of us to play together, all the top players playing together, and we're going to make that happen."
His next competitive appearance remains to be announced.
