Tony Finau Slams LIV Golf Transfer Rumors After Injury Withdrawal
PGA Tour's Tony Finau has directly addressed recent LIV Golf rumors, firmly stating "They're not true" in an exclusive interview with Golfweek. The six-time PGA Tour winner emphasized his commitment to the PGA Tour, stating he's "more than happy" with his current position and looking forward to 2024.
Finau explained his recent withdrawal from the Hero World Challenge was due to October surgery to repair a torn meniscus and remove cartilage from his left knee, describing it as "pretty standard clean up." This medical procedure, rather than potential LIV Golf negotiations, was behind his tournament withdrawal.

The 35-year-old plans to return to competition at The Sentry in Hawaii this January, saying "When I tee it up in Maui, it will all go away, so, I don't worry about it one bit." He's also considering participating in the upcoming Grant Thornton Invitational alongside Nelly Korda, pending his knee's recovery.

This isn't Finau's first time addressing LIV Golf speculation. Last year, he affirmed his PGA Tour loyalty through an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for competing at the highest level and excitement for his tenth PGA Tour season in 2024.
Sepp Straka will replace Finau in the Hero World Challenge field.
