Torrey Pines Set to Host 2025 Genesis Invitational After LA Brushfires Force Venue Change
The PGA Tour has confirmed that the 2025 Genesis Invitational will temporarily relocate due to recent Los Angeles brushfires that have claimed at least 27 lives and threatened the Riviera Country Club area.
According to CBS reporter Rick Gehman, Torrey Pines is expected to be announced as the replacement venue. The selection was reportedly influenced by two key factors:
- Maintaining the event's presence in California
- Close proximity to the original venue (approximately 125 miles from Riviera)

The tournament, a Signature Event hosted by Tiger Woods, will keep its scheduled dates of February 10-16, 2025. Other potential venues that were considered included Pebble Beach, PGA West, and TPC Scottsdale.
Torrey Pines offers several advantages:
- Two championship courses available
- Previous major championship experience (2008 and 2021 US Opens)
- Tiger Woods' historical success at the venue (8 career wins)
- Currently prepared to host the Farmers Insurance Open
The PGA Tour's official statement indicated that additional tournament information will be provided in the coming days. This will be Woods' first appearance at Torrey Pines in five years, returning to a venue where he has experienced significant success throughout his career.
The South Course, which is longer and more challenging than the North Course, is expected to be the primary venue for this limited-field event, following its use in the upcoming Farmers Insurance Open.
