Will Zalatoris Transforms Body, Adds 15 Pounds of Muscle During Off-Season
Will Zalatoris has made significant physical improvements during his first real offseason since 2019, adding 15 pounds of muscle through an intensive training regimen that included consuming 4,500 calories and 200 grams of protein daily.

The 28-year-old pro, who had been dealing with back issues and busy tour schedules, finally found time to focus on strength training. This break came after missing most of 2023 due to back surgery - the same procedure Tiger Woods underwent.
His dedication to improvement extended beyond physical training. Zalatoris has been working extensively with a broomstick putter to reduce back strain and regain his competitive edge. Prior to his injury, he ranked 13th in driving distance but fell to 77th position at 302.5 yards in recent play.
Despite limited tournament appearances, Zalatoris has shown promising results. He secured a tie for second at the Genesis Invitational and fourth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. His performance in the FedEx Cup Playoffs (T12 and T13) earned him spots in every Signature Event for 2025.
At the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, his first appearance at the event, Zalatoris expressed satisfaction with his progress: "It's kind of nice to have a year where as opposed to rehabbing, I'm actually progressing." His focused training and physical transformation aim to help him build upon his already impressive career, which includes five runner-up finishes and one Tour title at the 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
