Adam Sandler's 'Happy Gilmore 2' Trailer Reveals Star-Studded Golf Comedy Sequel
Netflix's highly anticipated 'Happy Gilmore 2' reunites Adam Sandler with the golf world in a star-studded sequel set to release on July 25. The film brings back Sandler as the iconic hockey player-turned-golfer alongside Christopher McDonald reprising his role as Shooter McGavin.
The latest trailer showcases an impressive lineup of current golf stars, including Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Bryson DeChambeau. Additional celebrity appearances include Travis Kelce, Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, and Nick Swardson.
The film, co-written by Sandler and original writer Tim Herlihy, completed its 14-month production under Sandler's Happy Madison production company. Behind-the-scenes footage of the production was featured in season three of Netflix's Full Swing, with Chad Mumm's Pro Shop Studios contributing to the project.
Netflix's decision to produce the sequel aligns with the streaming platform's existing relationship with Sandler and capitalizes on golf's recent surge in popularity following the Covid pandemic. The project joins other golf-related content being developed by major streaming services, including AppleTV.
