DP World Tour Pro Sinks Epic 139-Yard Putt to Set World Record
David Micheluzzi set a new Guinness World Record by making a 139-yard putt at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi, breaking the previous record of 401 feet, 2 inches. The remarkable feat occurred during a pre-tournament challenge at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Several DP World Tour pros attempted the challenge before Micheluzzi succeeded on his second try. The ball rolled for an impressive 20 seconds, navigating past sprinkler heads and other obstacles before finding the cup. Micheluzzi celebrated with a cartwheel and by throwing his putter after making history.
While this stands as the official Guinness World Record for "longest golf putt (non-tournament)," there are other notable long-distance putts in golf history:
- Wesley Bryan made an unofficial 144-yard putt earlier this year
- The longest tournament putt record belongs to Nick Price (110 feet, 2 inches) at the 1992 PGA Championship
- Craig Barlow holds the PGA Tour record with a 111-foot, 5-inch putt at the 2008 Buick Open
The DP World Tour has a history of record-breaking attempts, including:
- Fastest hole of golf by a team of four (24.75 seconds)
- Fastest hole by an individual (1:29.62)
- Farthest golf shot caught in a moving car (303 yards)
