The Desert Inn Golf Course, which was located adjacent to what was formerly known as McCarran International Airport (now Harry Reid International Airport) in Las Vegas, was established in 1952. This historic golf course was part of the iconic Desert Inn Hotel and Casino complex.

Designed by renowned golf course architect Lawrence Hughes, the course quickly became one of Las Vegas's premier golfing destinations. It hosted numerous professional tournaments, including the Tournament of Champions from 1953 to 1966.

The golf course remained operational until 2001, when Steve Wynn purchased the Desert Inn property. Following its closure, the land was redeveloped to make way for Wynn Las Vegas and Encore resorts, which opened in 2005 and 2008 respectively.

Today, while the original Desert Inn golf course no longer exists, the Wynn Golf Club occupies part of the same land. This new course, designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2005, continues the legacy of golf in this location next to the airport.
