Ludvig Aberg achieved his first PGA Tour hole-in-one during the third round of the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, landing the shot on the 140-yard par-3 third hole.

Using a pitching wedge, Aberg's ball landed just beyond the hole before spinning back into the cup. The ace moved him to six-under for the tournament, three shots behind leader Davis Thompson.

This marks a significant turnaround for Aberg at Torrey Pines, where he previously struggled during the Farmers Insurance Open in January due to illness. He withdrew from the following Pebble Beach Pro-Am after losing approximately eight pounds, making the Genesis Invitational his comeback tournament.

The hole-in-one, the first at this hole since Richy Werenski's in the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open, also triggered a $10,000 donation to California Rises, a foundation helping recovery efforts from January's wildfires.

Aberg, currently ranked World No.6, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Torrey Pines, stating "I love this place, I think it's one of the best golf courses that we play." The tournament was relocated to Torrey Pines after wildfires affected its usual venue, Riviera Country Club.

This ace joins recent notable holes-in-one in professional golf, including Rory McIlroy's slam dunk at Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Shane Lowry's ace at the same event, Emiliano Grillo's shot at the WM Phoenix Open's Stadium Hole, and Patrick Reed's ace at LIV Golf Adelaide.
