Linn Grant Expresses Disappointment Over Scandinavian Mixed Tournament Cancellation
Swedish golf star Linn Grant has expressed disappointment over the cancellation of the Scandinavian Mixed tournament from the DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour schedules.
Grant, who made history as the first female winner on the DP World Tour at the 2022 Scandinavian Mixed, dominated the event with a nine-stroke victory over Henrik Stenson and Marc Warren. She successfully defended her title in 2023 in dramatic fashion when Sebastian Soderberg's late collapse handed her a second victory.

"It was one of my favorite tournaments," Grant told Golf Monthly. "From a Swedish perspective, the crowds loved the event and the players were warming up to it more each year as it kept improving. It might not have been the most profitable event, but it was definitely one of the most talked about."
The unique tournament featured men and women competing for the same trophy and prize pool, with players teeing off from different positions based on gender. Initially hosted by Henrik Stenson and Annika Sorenstam in 2022, the event ran for three years before being dropped from both tours' 2025 schedules.

Despite efforts to maintain the tournament, Grant revealed it became "a closed case." However, she remains optimistic about the future of mixed events, noting that "Australia seems keen on hosting more mixed events, so I think we'll see them elsewhere in the future, perhaps in a different format."
The loss of this groundbreaking tournament represents a setback for golf's efforts to promote gender equality in the sport, though its success may inspire similar events in other locations.
