The 31-year-old Polish golfer narrowly missed out on the 2023 European team despite winning multiple tournaments, including the Italian Open at the Ryder Cup venue Marco Simone. After that disappointment, he joined the LIV Golf League but maintains his desire to represent Europe.
"There are still lots of tournaments to be played, and competing against those guys on LIV Golf is not easy," Meronk said. "If you are getting top 10s on there, you are playing well."
While making the Ryder Cup team isn't his primary focus, Meronk remains committed to improving his game. His immediate goal is securing one of three available spots for The Open Championship at the Asian Tour event in Macau.
"I feel like my game is progressing nicely, but I just need to be patient and work hard and see what happens," he added. "It is huge for us, especially for me. I do not have any majors yet this year, so that is going to be the main focus for this tournament."
As a LIV Golf player not currently qualified for any Majors, Meronk faces an uphill battle to earn a captain's pick for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. However, his recent form and positive communication with captain Donald suggest he remains in contention for selection.
