Ludvig Aberg Details Severe Stomach Illness That Led To Pebble Beach Pro-Am Withdrawal

The Swedish golfer described how the illness progressed in two phases. It started as a stomach bug, causing vomiting, before developing into fever and body aches. The severity of the condition led to Aberg losing eight pounds in just two days.
After shooting a 77 in the opening round at Spyglass Hill, Aberg was forced to withdraw from the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He skipped the WM Phoenix Open to focus on recovery, though he admits he's still working on regaining his full weight.

Making his return at the Genesis Invitational, Aberg showed strong form with rounds of 74 and 66, including five birdies and an eagle. This placed him four shots behind leader Davis Thompson going into the weekend.
When asked about competing against top players like Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, Aberg maintained that their presence wouldn't change his approach to pursuing his second PGA Tour victory, noting that while they're tough to beat at their best, it's "encouraging to try to keep up."
