Padraig Harrington Speechless After Son's Historic Hole-in-One At PNC Championship
At the PNC Championship, both Charlie Woods and Paddy Harrington made their first career holes-in-one within 30 minutes of each other during Sunday's round. Paddy, son of three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington, aced the par-3 8th hole from 185 yards with a 6-iron after a last-minute club change.
"My caddie and I thought we'd hit the 5-iron because there's a lot of wind there. At the last minute we changed to the 6-iron and I hit it pure," Paddy explained. His father Padraig was ecstatic, saying "I've never been as excited before! I've never hit a shot and been that excited before."

The ace helped Team Harrington shoot a front-nine 30 (-6), putting them just two shots behind Team Woods and Team Langer. This was only the third hole-in-one in PNC Championship history, following Charlie Woods' ace at the par-3 4th just moments earlier and Shaun O'Meara's hole-in-one at the fourth hole in 2014.
