
Phil Mickelson To Miss LIV Golf Riyadh With Shoulder Injury
Phil Mickelson has withdrawn from the opening LIV Golf event of 2025 in Riyadh due to a minor shoulder injury sustained during gym preparations. Ollie Schniederjans, who recently won the International Series India, will replace him on the HyFlyers GC team alongside Andy Ogletree, Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale.

In a social media statement, Mickelson expressed disappointment at missing the season opener but indicated he plans to return for the Adelaide event. The six-time Major winner has participated in every LIV Golf tournament to date, with his best finish being a tie for sixth at LIV Golf Jeddah in 2024.

The Riyadh event kicks off LIV Golf's fourth season from February 6-8 at Riyadh Golf Club. The tournament will feature night golf, with rounds beginning at 6:15pm local time (10:15am ET/3:15pm GMT) to accommodate US viewers following LIV's new multi-year Fox Sports TV deal. The final round starts slightly earlier at 6:05pm local time.
Mickelson finished 39th in the 2023 individual standings and 46th in 2024. His HyFlyers GC team's best result was third place at LIV Golf Adelaide.
