Tiger Woods Returns to PGA Tour at Genesis Invitational in Torrey Pines
Tiger Woods is set to make his 2024 PGA Tour debut at the Genesis Invitational, which will be played at Torrey Pines instead of its usual Riviera Country Club venue due to recent LA wildfires.
This marks Woods' first PGA Tour appearance since The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July, following his sixth back surgery. His most recent competitive action was at December's PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie, where Team Woods finished second to Team Langer in a playoff.

The venue change could work in Woods' favor, as he has claimed eight victories at Torrey Pines, including the 2008 US Open and seven Farmers Insurance Opens. The tournament, which Woods hosts, is one of the PGA Tour's $20 million Signature Events.
This return comes during a challenging personal time for Woods, following the recent passing of his mother Kultida, whom he credited as his "biggest fan and greatest supporter."
The Genesis Invitational will feature an elite field including Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Collin Morikawa. World No.2 Xander Schauffele's participation remains uncertain due to a rib injury.
Woods had previously opted out of December's Hero World Challenge, citing insufficient sharpness in his game. His participation now suggests improved physical condition and readiness to compete against the Tour's top players.
