World No. 2 Xander Schauffele will miss multiple upcoming events due to an unspecified medical issue. After withdrawing from The American Express, Schauffele will not participate in Tuesday's TGL match for New York Golf Club against Atlanta Drive GC or the Farmers Insurance Open.

New York's TGL team will now feature Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler, and Cameron Young (making his debut) as they attempt to recover from their 9-2 loss to The Bay in their opening match.

The absence from the Farmers Insurance Open is particularly notable, as Schauffele, a San Diego native, has played in the event for nine consecutive years. His most recent appearance in 2024 resulted in a T9 finish.

Schauffele's 2025 season began with a T30 finish at The Sentry in Hawaii, continuing his impressive cut streak that dates back to May 2022. His return date remains uncertain, with attention now turning to whether he will participate in the upcoming Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the season's second signature event.

The timing is unfortunate for Schauffele, who finished 2024 ranked second globally behind Scottie Scheffler after securing two Major victories. His participation in future events will depend on his recovery from this undisclosed medical issue.
