Xander Schauffele has extended his impressive cut streak to 58 consecutive tournaments after a dramatic second round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This marks the longest active streak on the PGA Tour, though still well behind Tiger Woods' record of 142 events between 1998 and 2005.

The two-time Major champion overcame significant challenges during his round, including back-to-back double bogeys on holes 11 and 12. Showing remarkable resilience, Schauffele responded with three birdies on holes 13, 14, and 16 to secure his place for the weekend.

"Austin (Kaiser, his caddie) and I are proud of our cut streak, no doubt," Schauffele said. "Is it what we think about? No. But usually when you focus on winning you make a lot of cuts and end up somewhere in between."

This performance is particularly noteworthy as it marks Schauffele's return to competition after a six-week break due to a rib injury. The 31-year-old emphasized his physical condition remains strong, stating, "I feel good, physically great. My goal was just make it to the weekend, just so I can have two more rounds of golf. I just need as much golf as possible."

Schauffele's consistency has been a hallmark of his career, highlighted by his victories in both the PGA Championship and The Open Championship last year. His ability to maintain form through challenging conditions at Bay Hill demonstrates why he's considered one of the most reliable performers on tour.

"I try really hard to not quit," Schauffele reflected. "Even today going double, double sitting in a really nice spot it was an easy time to get frustrated. But I said earlier in the week I'm going to have to go to a special place to play decent golf, and I had to dig deep."
