
Rory McIlroy Banks $2M Bonus for Race to Dubai Victory
Rory McIlroy captured his sixth Race to Dubai title after winning the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates' Earth Course in Dubai, earning significant prize money in the process.
The 2023/24 season was structured in three phases:
- Global Swings phase (3,000 ranking points per event)
- The Back 9 (5,000 points per event)
- DP World Tour Playoffs finale (Abu Dhabi Championship - 9,000 points, DP World Tour Championship - 12,000 points)

McIlroy's victory earned him:
- $3 million for winning the DP World Tour Championship
- $2 million bonus for winning Race to Dubai
- Total earnings: $5 million
Race to Dubai Bonus Pool Distribution ($6 million total):
- Rory McIlroy - $2 million
- Rasmus Hojgaard - $1 million
- Thriston Lawrence - $750,000 4-10. Remaining $2.25 million distributed among other top finishers
Only McIlroy and Lawrence had a mathematical chance of winning heading into the final event. McIlroy needed just a solo 11th place finish or better to secure the title, which he achieved by winning the tournament outright for his third DP World Tour Championship victory and sixth Race to Dubai crown.
