Rory McIlroy Banks $5 Million With DP World Tour Championship Victory
Rory McIlroy secured his third DP World Tour Championship title at Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course in Dubai, marking the end of the 2023/24 DP World Tour season. The victory earned him $3 million from the tournament's $10 million prize purse.
McIlroy outperformed Rasmus Hojgaard to claim his fourth worldwide victory of the year. After the win, he reflected, "It means a lot. I've been through a lot this year, professionally, personally, and it feels like the fitting end to 2024."

The tournament featured the top 50 available players from the Race to Dubai rankings, with McIlroy entering as the rankings leader. The event's $10 million purse made it the largest of the year, exceeding the Butterfield Bermuda Championship by over $3 million.

In addition to the tournament victory, McIlroy claimed his sixth Race to Dubai title, earning an extra $2 million from the $6 million bonus pool. This brought his total earnings from the week to $5 million.
The DP World Tour Championship featured a 72-hole, no-cut format, matching last year's winner's payout when Nicolai Hojgaard claimed $3 million. The field included players ranging from McIlroy at the top to Francesco Laporta as the lowest-ranked qualifier.
