Kultida Woods is being honored at the Genesis Invitational with a special tribute on the seventh hole at Torrey Pines. The tournament, hosted by her son Tiger Woods, features a white flag at hole 7 - symbolizing her Buddhist faith, where white represents purity, wisdom, and longevity, while seven signifies enlightenment factors.

Tiger Woods withdrew from the tournament on Monday, stating he needs time to process his mother's loss. In his announcement of her passing last week, he remembered her as "a force of nature" and his "biggest fan," crediting her for making his achievements possible.

Kultida "Tida" Punsawad Woods, who passed away at 78, was arguably golf's most famous mother. She was instrumental in Tiger's development, driving him to junior tournaments across Southern California in her Plymouth Duster. Her immigrant mentality and Buddhist values, combined with Earl Woods' influence, shaped Tiger's remarkable career.

She maintained a constant presence at major tournaments, often seen in the front row during Tiger's most significant moments - from his first Masters win in 1997 to his World Golf Hall of Fame induction in 2022. Though private and protective of her son, she was known for her strength, directness, and unwavering support.

Her Buddhist teachings influenced Tiger's approach to both life and golf, emphasizing inner reflection and self-improvement. With 82 wins and 15 majors, Tiger's historic success is inextricably linked to his mother's dedication and guidance - as he often acknowledged, none of his achievements would have been possible without her.

@TigerWoods' late mother Tida, the 7th hole @TheGenesisInv will feature an all white flag. A native of Thailand, Tida was a faithful Buddhist, and the No. 7 and color white are significant in Buddhism and will be displayed in her honor.
